Worship Ministry
Worship is a right and fitting response to God, both because of who He is and because of what He has done. This is a constant motif throughout Scripture, finding particular expression in the Psalms – see Psalm 98, 100, 104, 111.
We worship God in His infinite greatness and goodness, recognizing His superiority to us in every way; and we worship Him for His great acts as Creator and Redeemer.
In Romans 12: 1 the apostle Paul teaches, ‘Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God— this is your spiritual act of worship.’ So worship is not confined to something we do at church services, it is a lifestyle – doing everything as if you were doing it for Jesus.
As Christ’s body here on earth, we should remember that we are ‘living stones’ and if we allow Him to do His construction work among us then we will become a temple, built together by love and unity, where we can experience God right in our midst.
We want Orchardhill to be known as a church where we live our lives for God and worship is accessible to all by:
-
providing diversity of worship
-
equipping us for worship in our daily lives
-
identifying skills used in corporate worship
-
providing opportunities to serve
-
developing prayerfulness
The greatest worship is always inside out – devotion that flows from a changed life, born from revelation. | |
