Stepping Stones Newsletter September 2009 Welcome to a new term of Stepping Stones. We are so glad to have such a great crowd of children again this year, and we are all looking forward to a packed session full of fun and games. Firstly there is the introduction of the new church website with information about Stepping Stones – check it out on http://www.orchardhill.org.uk/ Also we hope to have regular news letters to keep you updated about all our events. We asked the children last term what they wanted to do and have taken their views into account in planning our new programme. The children will be able to enjoy learning about Jesus through crafts, games, singing, stories, chats, discussion, mini-cinema, food, drama and (of course) the Christmas parties at the end of term. The adults can look forward to seeing the children involved in Worship e.g. at the Harvest Service, the Youth Service and the Nativity Play. We also hope to have some Open Days so they can show you what they have been doing and learning. We would also welcome any parents or others to come along to the monthly Prayer Breakfast in the Memorial Halls on the first Sunday of every month at 8.45am. We are hoping to link in more with other areas of the church, and in this regard would like to be able to take photos of the children ‘in action’ to show on the website and in news letters and presentations. We would therefore be grateful if you would complete the permission slip at the bottom of this letter and return it to myself at Also remember to notify your leaders if your child has any allergies or medical conditions we need to know about. Our draft programme is attached. All children from 3 – 12 years are welcome at Stepping Stones and we encourage the children to bring their friends or family along at any time.
