What’s on in Orchardhill?
Orchardhill is a very active church with regular meetings and activities on almost every night of the week.
Smartie Gang age 3 - 5
Bridges
Is the coolest place for S1 – S6 to gather on a Sunday Morning at 9.45am. After 10 minutes in the church you move up to the Tower Room where there is video, games and fun for half an hour. Then it’s over to the Memorial Halls for basketball, Extreme Dodgeyball or just a chat. Juice and toast are provided. We generally finish around 12 – 12:30. About 20+ S1-S6 attend regularly and we would be delighted to welcome you along. Fusion
meets at 6:30pm sharp in the Memorial Halls for FUN, GAMES and discussion. It’s for all S1 – S6 pupils within reach of the halls. We also do things like go to concerts and have away days at paintball and the like. Currently we are raising funds to help send some of our number to South Africa to assist in an Children’s Home by way of teaching the children games and helping renovate the property. There are around 20 – 25 young people attending regularly and there are over 70 youths in the area who are subscribed to get weekly texts regarding what’s on. We look forward to meeting you and seeing our numbers grow.

Already this year we have been outdoor ice skating at George Square, been to the Science Centre and done a lot of cooking! If you would like to join (ages 10-14) then please telephone: Suzie Anderson (577 5737) or Fiona McLaws (638 3274) although priority will be given to girls in the Brownies at Orchardhill already.
2nd A Giffnock Guides meet on a Wednesday night 7.00 until 9pm in the Memorial Halls. We enjoy a variety of activities ranging from the challenge of a rain-soaked day at Castle Semple outdoor activity centre to making up Christmas cakes in the traditional way. Trips and cooking are generally popular, but we also take part in community events and work at the Go For It challenges. As with all other organisations, extra help is always appreciated and sometimes essential to allow girls to continue enjoying Guiding.
