Are you interested? A few parents have expressed a desire to have a crèche for the under 3s during the first service on a Sunday morning. As there are already toys and a space available this could be put into operation fairly soon. If you are interested please contact Gillian Hall (637 4399).

Macmillan Coffee Morning For several years we held the Big Coffee Morning in the church halls, but last year Irene and Mary decided to hold it in their own homes with the surprising result that we raised more money for Macmillan Cancer Support but with less effort! We would like to see more small coffee mornings being held in Giffnock, and if you feel you could do this, we’d love to hear from you. The official date is Friday 24th September, but it can be any day and at any time that suits you. Invite your friends and neighbours. It can be as small or as big as you wish. It is a great way of getting to know people! Contact Mary Kerr (638 2747) or Irene Kinniburgh (638 3722) if you would like more information, help or advice.

Godly Play at OrchardhillOn Saturday 2nd October, Stepping Stones will be welcoming Margaret Grant and Alex Mackenzie who will present a Godly Play Discovery Day from 10.00am till approximately 4pm in the Church Hall. All those who are involved in Stepping Stones are invited to come along and hear about this Montessori-based approach to hearing about the Word. This method has been found to be successful in assisting children and young people in their spiritual development and making Christianity come alive so that it becomes part of daily life and not just Church on a Sunday. Each child’s needs and ways of learning are different and so the Montessori style is ideal. The children will discover how to ‘wonder’ about spiritual things; while the language, symbols, sacred stories and parables of the Christian Faith are presented in tangible forms using large, specifically made figures and models in a very simple and powerful way. Please contact Andrea Caldwell (586 0162) or Anne Barr (638 1216) for more details or if you would like to attend. Lunch will be provided. A Materials day will be held on 30th October and this is where we need your help. Anyone interested in helping us to make up the materials please come, you do not need to be an expert in anything, we just need enthusiasm. More details later. This is an exciting time for Stepping Stones and we would ask for your prayers as we begin a new challenge
