Description: |
We've all been horrified by the visual evidence on our televisions of the extent of the destruction and human suffering wrought by the earthquake in Haiti. Yet we've also found ourselves uplifted by the stories of survivors rescued from the rubble against all odds, and by the outpouring of generosity around the world -- even if the gigantic scale of the devastation means that logistical problems are causing not all of the aid to reach those who need it yet. As the world responds to the earthquake, we at Orchardhill will dedicate our Communion Service Sunday, 14 March to reflect on and pray for the people of Haiti and to take up a retiring offering for the ongoing humanitarian effort in the country.
