Rev Chris Vermeulen
Born raised and educated in South Africa in the 1960’s and 70’s Chris is a Batchelor of Theology
Through the 1980’s Chris was the Minister for St. David's Presbyterian Church (Nigel, South Africa ). He moved to Scotland to study at Glasgow University while still ministering part time in the Falkirk area. During this time he wrote the book entitled “The Church Facing the Future". He was called to Barrhead Congregational Church and served as their minister for six years until the year 2000 when he moved to Manchester to become a research fellow for the Woodlands Project on a 5 year contract.
Presently Chris is the Parish Minister for Orchardhill Parish Church, Church of Scotland (Giffnock,Glasgow ) He is also the Glasgow Presbytery Mission Strategy vice-convenor. Chris was one of the founders of the www.emergingchurch.info website and he currently serves on the organising committee of the Euro Church Network (www.eurochurch.net) and currently he is an active member and secretary of the Scottish Church Theology Society (http://scottishchurchtheologysociety.co.uk/) He was instrumental in developing the Together in Missions missional leadership course in Scotland (www.missionalleadership.org.uk). Chris is married with two children. |
